Trevor Hartigan, 17, of St. Albans was pulled over on Fairfield Street in the City just after midnight on November 30th.

According to Trooper Ashley Farmer, Hartigan was driving erratically before he was pulled over.

Farmer said there were a total of 5 juveniles in the vehicle, several of which were “heavily intoxicated”

Hartigan provided a breath test, which showed his blood alcohol level at 0.173%, according to Farmer. That’s more than twice the legal limit of 0.08% for an adult of legal drinking age.

According to State’s Attorney Jim Hughes, Hartigan is being charged as an adult because the alleged offense is driving related. “When you do adult things, you get charged with adult crimes,” Hughes said.

Hartigan is due in court on January 3rd to answer to the charge of DUI.
