St. Albans (January 16, 2017) – Northwestern Medical Center and the Grand Isle Supervisory Union are excited to announce an expansion of their in-school collaborative partnership. In addition to spending time at Alburgh Community Education Center, RiseVT School Wellness Specialist Moretti will soon start work with the Folsom Education and Community Center (FECC) in South Hero.

Moretti’s work at FECC will involve partnering with administration, staff, students and the community to identify ways to add movement activities into the classrooms, enhance learning, and encourage active play outside of the classroom.

Classroom engagement is a strong suit for Moretti.

“I was fortunate enough to work with Moretti as he piloted the program in Alburgh. I saw first-hand what RiseVT and Moretti brought to the community. He brought the concepts in exciting and non-judgmental ways, students were inspired to engage, play and interact with him,” said Homeschool Coordinator Terry Seekamp.

Beginning last spring, Moretti worked with students and adults at Alburgh Community Education Center. This March, he will begin attending school days at FECC, ramping up to multiple days each week and scaling back time in Alburgh. Extending his time into two schools deepens the partnership with RiseVT as Alburgh’s efforts mature and Folsom’s work gets underway.

“Folsom Elementary has so many resources, ideas and energy at their fingertips already. I am excited to work with the school and the community to find all of the connections that will make this community shine even brighter,” said Moretti who has worked with the RiseVT community collaborative for the past year.

Folsom Principal Leonard Badeau said: “RiseVT’s goals align beautifully with the mission of Folsom.  Furthermore this partnership will help us implement and improve our strategies and structures as we strive to fully implement Multi Tiered Systems of Support, Positive Behavior Intervention Support, and intervention strategies that enhance every student’s academic, physical, and social-emotional experience at Folsom.
