Lois Marie Chauvin

MONTGOMERY CENTER – Lois Marie Chauvin, age 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 8, 1948, the daughter of Louise (Willis) Celentano and the late Michael Celentano.

She worked for over 20 years as a Bus Driver for Montgomery Elementary School.  If she wasn’t driving the bus you could find Lois at the school volunteering her time as a Foster Grandparent.  Her greatest pride was being able to spend time with her family out snowmobiling, 4 wheeling or just enjoying the outdoors.  In earlier years Lois volunteered her time coaching softball teams for her children. She was a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Lois loved to cook and was well known for her amazing apple pie.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Chauvin of Montgomery Center; her son, Johnny Witherspoon and his wife, Allison of Montgomery; her daughter, Therese Chauvin of Swanton; stepson, Roger Chauvin Jr of Montgomery; and her mother, Louise Celentano of Enosburg Falls. Grandchildren, Rose Witherspoon, Jack Witherspoon; Serenity Poissant, Jacob Barnes, Tyler Barnes and Megan Chauvin; sisters, Lynda Cluba; Katherine Cross and Suzanne “Smitty” Kelly; Aunts Lois Halterman, Fern Schnathorst, Jessie-Bell Rivera and Colleen Rivera; many cousins across the U.S. and special friends, Scott & Lisa Baker.  Besides her father, Lois was predeceased by her grandparents Emmett and Jane Willis.

Visitation for both Lois, and her father Michael Celentano will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6-9 P.M. at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg.  A celebration of life will take place at the convenience of the family.
