NAMES, DETAILS RELEASED IN CONNECTION WITH DOUBLE FATAL ST. ALBANS CRASH

St. Albans Police have released the names of the victims in the crash that killed two people in St. Albans Town yesterday afternoon.

According to St. Albans Police Chief, Gary Taylor, Shawn G. Tardy, 47, of Swanton was driving a pickup truck when it crossed over the center line, causing the accident.

In the oncoming lane of travel was Robert Young, 42, of St. Albans and his passenger, 44-year-old Lori Latulippe. Both were killed as a result of the crash.

Taylor said in a written statement on Wednesday morning that Tardy was still in the hospital, being treated for injuries in the crash. The Chief did not say if he expected charges to be filed in connection with the crash.

Young and Latulippe were both transported to the Medical Examiner’s office in St. Albans for an autopsy.

The County Courier has learned through our sources that criminal charges will likely be filed in connection with the crash.

Taylor said police are still seeking information from the public and have asked for anyone that may have information to reach out to the police department at 524-2166
