Frederick D. Wright

RICHFORD – Frederick D. Wright, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at his home in Richford.

He was born in Richford on December 16, 1937, to the late Richard & Helen (Ripley) Wright.

Fred grew up in Vermont along the Canadian border. He graduated from Canaan High School, and then served in the U.S. Navy. Fred was devoted to the Richford community, especially the High School. He worked as a middle and high school teacher for 29 years, and he also coached soccer, softball, basketball, and golf. Fred was an avid wheeler & dealer, he loved buying at auctions and selling at flea markets. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Women’s Basketball, and visiting his friends in Canada. Fred will be remembered for always having a story to tell.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Wright of Richford; three children, Heather Wright of Arlington, VA, Christopher Wright of Richford, and Erin Davis and her three children, Talia, Kayliese, and Amara all of Sheldon; two brothers, George & Russell Wright and several nieces & nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the family’s convenience.
