Cheryl Lee Palmer

ST. ALBANS/GEORGIA: Cheryl Lee Palmer a lifelong area resident passed away Friday, April 10, 2020, at the UVM Medical Center. 

Born in St. Albans on May 18, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Glendon and Catherine (Conlin) Palmer.  Cheryl was 69 years old. 

Cheryl attended the Georgia Elementary School, was a 1968 graduate of Bellows Free Academy, a 1984 graduate of Community College of Vermont and received a BA in Accounting in 1986 from Trinity College. 

She was a member of Who’s Who American Jr. College in 1983-1984 and Who’s Who American Sr. College in 1985-1986, was on the Board of Directors for Vermont State College Student Association and Student Life Task Force, and served on the Stewardship Committee of the First Congregational Church of St. Albans.  Cheryl was an avid reader and self-taught crafter. 

Survivors include her siblings, Patricia “Pat” Ledoux of Fairfax, John (Sharon) Palmer of Florida, Brent Palmer (companion, Peggy Gaudette), of St. Albans, and Mindi (Victor) Picard of St. Albans, as well as her sisters-in-law, Leona Palmer and Mary Palmer both of Georgia.  She is also survived by her godchildren, Jody Deslauriers, Timothy Palmer and Brittany Adams, many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; former husband, Christopher Karwan; close friend, Christine “Sister” Houle and special neighbor, Anita Girard. 

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her siblings, Richard Palmer Sr., Colleen Paquette and Gary Palmer; nieces, Mona Billings and Ann Morris and brother-in-law, Ronald Ledoux.

Services will be announced at a later date by the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.
