Jacqueline “Jackie” Susan Hojaboom

Saint Albans: Jacqueline Susan Hojaboom a lifelong area resident passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at home with her family at her side.

Born in St. Albans on July 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Augustine and Noella (Gaboury) Guay. Jackie was 79 years old.

On September 17, 1978, in St. Albans, she married Ronald K. Hojaboom, who survives her.

Jackie was a 1959 graduate of Bellows Free Academy and went on to the Jeanne Mance School of Nursing.  She was instrumental in helping Fred Holmes, MD establish Mousetrap Pediatrics. She remained with Mousetrap for 32 years.  She was a longtime member of St. Albans Lodge, # 1566, BPOE, and enjoyed spending time with family at camp and fishing at Sampson Point.  She and Ron always enjoyed their many trips to casinos, especially the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino in New York.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Ronald of St. Albans; her son, Scott Guptill and his partner Vickie Allen of St. Albans; stepdaughter, Michelle Madore and her husband, Matt, and their children, Cody, Julia and Adam of Lutz, FL; and stepson, Mark Hojaboom and his wife, Laurie, of Colchester, as well as her sister, Lucille Isham and her husband, Bretton, and their children, Vickie Isham and Eric Isham all of St. Albans.

Jackie is also survived by her close and dear friends, Sue Pelkey, Pat Reed, Fred and Joyce Holmes, and Norm Choiniere.

Her family would like to thank Bayada Hospice for the care and support given to Jackie and her family during her illness. 

It was Jackie’s request that there be no services.
