Real N. Therrien

FAIRFIELD: Real N. Therrien, a longtime area resident passed away early Sunday, May 3, 2020, at home with his daughters, Jeanne and Nicole at his side.

Born in Saint Edwidge, Quebec on February 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Achille and Simone (Hebert) Therrien.  Real was 87 years old.

Real was married to Jeanne Menard, who predeceased him on October 21, 1984, and then Madeline  (Rychard) Dupont, who predeceased him on December 14, 2007.

Real served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of UBC Local # 1996, New England Regional Council of Carpenters AFL-CIO, was a volunteer member of Fairfax Rescue and drove bus and volunteered at the Fairfield Center School. He also was a member of the Fairfield Community Center and a longtime communicant of St. Patrick Parish.

Survivors include his two daughters, Jeanne Gosselin of Essex Junction and Nicole Therrien of Palm Bay, Florida, as well as two grandchildren, Cathlene Irish and David Irish.

Real is also survived by his siblings, Alain Therrien and his wife, Rochelle, Claire Beaudoin, Theresa Ringuette, and Jeannette Coel and several nieces, nephews, Madeline’s children and special friends and neighbors, Tim and Lynnca Perkins.

In addition to his parents and wives, Jeanne and Madeline, Real was pre-deceased by a brother, Paul Therrien in 2006 and son-in-law, Pete Gosselin in 2013.

Due to circumstance at this time, a private graveside service followed by military honors will be conducted this week at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery in Fairfax.
