Lyle Barber Jacobs

FAIRFAX: Lyle Barber Jacobs a longtime area resident passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at the The Villa Rehab Center.

Born in Derby Line on February 18, 1929, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Emma (Barber) Jacobs. Lyle was 91 years old.

Lyle married Charlotte Morse, who predeceased him on March 21, 2020.

Lyle was a 1947 graduate of Bellows Free Academy and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army, receiving his honorable discharge in 1952, and then went to work for the Central Vermont Railroad retiring following 35 years of service. He was a member of Green Mountain Post # 1, American Legion, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed his many family outings hunting and fishing, and spending time at deer camp.

Survivors include his son, Robert Jacobs; daughter, Kimberly Dunbar and her husband, Keith, as well as his granddaughter, Rebecca Jacobs and her husband, Joe, and grandson, Kyle Jacobs; great-granddaughter, Gabriella DeStefano and mother of Rebecca and Kyle, Victoria Jacobs and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Charlotte, Lyle was predeceased by his brothers, Arnold Jacobs, Kermit Jacobs and his inseparable twin brother, Lloyd Jacobs.

Services will be private for his family at the St. Albans Bay Cemetery.
