MONTPELIER: Governor Phil Scott announced today that schools will be allowed to move into Phase II, for restarting high school sports. That means that contact practices are now going to be allowed.

It also allows for inter school scrimmage play, but does not allow for school-to-school scrimmages or games.

Governor Scott said the players will still be required to wear masks, and no audience will be allowed for these scrimmages.

As for outdoor sports, the Governor’s order now allows for outdoor competitions such as skiing to go forward.

The new phase is set to begin for schools on Monday.

The County Courier will continue to follow developments to the restart of sports, as well as other aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
