WRONG WAY DRIVER CHARGED WITH DUI

The Vermont State Police in St. Albans were dispatched to the report of a wrong-way driver on Interstate 89 on Monday afternoon, according to Trooper Audrey Currier.

The caller told police the driver was near Exit 20, and was driving southbound in the northbound lane. A very short time later, police were notified of a vehicle in the southbound lane that appeared to have crashed, the Trooper said.

Troopers responded to the scene, to find a silver sedan, driven by 31 year old Sara Minor of Swanton.

The Trooper said Minor showed signs of impairment, but did not go into detail on what those signs of impairment were.

The incident happened around 2:25 in the afternoon, according to the Trooper. Minor was placed under arrest for DUI-drugs, transported to the St. Albans Police Barracks for processing, and released on a citation to appear in criminal court on April 27th.

Minor had been arrested as recently as August of 2020 for driving with a criminally suspended license, according to public records.
