Everett John Peyrat

ESSEX JCT. – Everett John Peyrat, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Essex Jct. on May 6, 2021, with his family by his side. Everett was born June 23, 1943 in St. Albans, Vermont to John & Celina (Rock) Peyrat.

Everett graduated from Highgate High School in Highgate, Vermont in 1961. After high school, he joined the National Guard for 3 years and was immediately employed at Union Carbide for 16 years in St. Albans as an electrician and a mechanic. He then went to IBM in Essex Jct. for 21 years as a Service Technician. Everett worked 10 years for the Essex/Westford School as a crossing guard.

Everett enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, boating, street rodding, building street rods, small engine repairs, welding, gardening, helping others anytime he could, road trips with family and friends, good food and good spirits. He loved working on anything mechanical and enjoyed going to his camp on Lake Carmi. He also enjoyed watching hockey, baseball, and football. Everett was a former member of the Champlain Valley Street Rod Club and was also a former Chief of the Highgate Fire Department.

Everett loved all animals and will be dearly missed by his four dogs, Trinka, Fritz, Carmello and Scout and his four cats, Snicker, Butterfinger, Pickles and Puddles.

Everett is survived by his wife, Wendy Peyrat of 24 years, his sister Shirley Fecteau and her husband Butch, his brother James Peyrat and his wife Christine, his daughter Kimberly Beebe and her husband Christopher, his son Brian Peyrat, his son Chad and his wife Sherry, step daughter Sara Wright and her husband Adam, step daughter Jill Garrant and her husband John, and step son Matthew Cyr and his fiancé Lindy. His grandchildren include Alex Beebe, Hillary Peyrat, Grace Peyrat, Isaac Peyrat, Brandon Nielsen, Kameron Cyr, Alexis Cyr, Dylan Cyr, Ryan Cyr, Jacqueline Wright, John Garrant, James Garrant, David Garrant, Gordon Garrant, and Lee Garrant. Everett also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Everett was predeceased by his parents John and Celine Peyrat, and his first wife, Irene (Gagne) Peyrat.

I would like to say thank you to the exceptional staff at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont ICU Unit, the doctors and nurses on Miller 4, UVM Home Health and Hospice team, Cardiologist Dr. William Hopkins, Cardiologist Dr. Robert Lobel, Everett’s Primary Practitioner Dr. Paul Reiss and his nurse Joy Cary RN for their constant excellent care for many years.

There will be a Celebration of Life on June 19, 2021 at the Catamount Golf Course, at  2 – 5:00pm, 1400 Mountain View Rd. Williston, VT. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
