Judy Mae DuClos

Judy May DuClos of Braintree, VT, wife of Verne E. DuClos and oldest daughter to Gordon and Arieta (Rita) St. Pierre, was born on January 27, 1948 in Fairfield, VT. She passed away in the early morning hours of June 17, 2021 at Gifford Memorial Hospital in Randolph, VT, after years of battling against cancer.

Judy grew up in Fairfield, VT, where she attended Fairfield Elementary grade school, a one-room schoolhouse, from 1-8 grades having the same teacher for all eight years. For high school she attended Bellows Free Academy. Upon graduation, she worked as bookkeeper at a Stowe resort and later, moved to Yuba City, California where she worked as a bartender and helped a friend raise his children. She then moved back to the St. Albans area where she worked at Fonda Corp, New England Can Company, and the Eveready Corporation operating a stamping press.

About 30 years ago she met and married Verne and became step-mom to his three children, Trajon, Darden, and Nate, and worked for New England Precision running a stamping press. She also leaves behind her four brothers, Richard (Joe), Terry, Roy, and Kenny St. Pierre along with their families.

Verne and Judy started Gizmos Pickled Plus about 21 years ago. Judy made all the jams and Verne helped her to pack all the pickles from vegetables grown right in their own garden. Their business continues to grow, keeping Judy’s spirit alive.

The funeral will be held at Day Funeral Home, 4 Franklin St., Randolph, VT on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 1 pm.
