Robert “Bob” A. Salminen

ENOSBURG FALLS – Robert “Bob” A. Salminen, age 62, passed away following a brief illness on September 15, 2021, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born in Fitchburg, MA on December 23, 1958, to Maurice & Carole (Hamburg) Salminen.

While he was serving in the United States Army, Susan and “Bill,” as she affectionately called him, traveled together by train to Italy, Greece, Spain, and Germany. She also enjoyed hearing his stories of “Adventures of Johnny and Bobby” reminiscing about old mischievous times. He safely hitchhiked from the East Coast to the West Coast at the age of 16. Bob became an electrician and worked for several years for local companies. He and Susan had three wonderful children and settled in Enosburg Falls where Bob enjoyed riding his electric bike around town. He was an avid reader, loved woodworking, carpentry, and doing macrame. Bob loved to laugh at his own jokes!

Bob is survived by his wife, Susan (Gleason) Salminen of Enosburg Falls; three sons, Jed Salminen and his wife Chloe of Northfield, Steve Salminen of Enosburg Falls, and Ryan Salminen of North Carolina; one grandchild on the way; his parents, Maurice and Carole Salminen; his two sisters, Susie Salminen of Arizona, and Nancy “Big N” Salminen also of Arizona; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and he was a friend to many. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Johnny Salminen.

His family will be reminded of him by some of his favorite things including the Rolling Stones, wildflowers, and beer.

Bob’s family will be holding a private Life Celebration at their convenience.
