David A. McAllister

BERKSHIRE– David A. McAllister, age 72, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Windsor on January 31, 1949 to the late Gerald & Lillian (Fisk) McAllister.

David married Sharon (Collins), the love of his life and soul mate on October 25, 1969. He worked as a builder for McAllister and Sons constructing homes with his father, uncle and brother until 1975. Then David and Sharon started farming. They purchased a family farm in Berkshire in 1985 and made a living for their family milking cows and working the land. David was very much involved in his kids, grandchildren, and the community’s sports teams, watching, cheering, critiquing, and coaching them. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and he never missed a deer season spending time at deer camp with family making memories. He also loved to spend time with family and friends playing cards, especially 500, Cribbage and Up and Down the River. David and Sharon enjoyed many vacations, the two most memorable being Hawaii in 2015 and the Dominican Republic when David might’ve stolen a golf cart while Sharon captured photos as proof!

He is survived by his wife, Sharon McAllister of Richford; his children, Michael McAllister and his wife Lorraine of Berkshire, Amy Parent and her husband Mark of Sheldon, and Marcy Schreindorfer and her husband Brendan of Sheldon; grandchildren, Sadie, Damien, Landon, Jade, Taylor, Dallas, Wade, Braylen, Brianna, Corbin, Rory, and William; six great grandchildren; a brother, Norman McAllister and his companion Mary Lou Booth; sister-in-law, Jane McAllister; brother-in-law, Bruce Collins and his wife Charlotte; sister-in-law, Sheila Roberts and her husband Joel; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Gerald McAllister Jr., and sister-in-law, Lena McAllister.
