Ricky S. Sherrer

RICHFORD: Ricky S. Sherrer, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington with his family by his side.

He was born in St. Albans on October 18, 1952 to the late Llyod and Glenna (Fleury) Sherrer.

Ricky grew up in Richford and attended Richford High School. He married Carole Marcoux on July 13, 1974. Ricky worked for the Village of Richford for several years and then went on to work for Blue Seal Feeds for close to 30 years. He was a legionnaire at Post #12 in Richford and a volunteer fireman for the Richford Fire Department for 22 years. Ricky was a quiet man who enjoyed listening to music, reading his favorite magazines, going for long car rides, and looked forward to spending time with his grandpups Captain and Banksy.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carole (Marcoux) Sherrer of Richford; children, Nicholas Sherrer, and Samantha Sherrer both of Richford; siblings, Elwin Sherrer of Burlington, Brenda Marcoux and partner Al Church of Berkshire, Sandra (Sherrer) Stratton and her husband Hiram NC, and Leonard Sherrer of Enosburg Falls; father-in-law, Laurent Marcoux and his wife Doris Marcoux; siblings-in-law, Serge Marcoux of Richford, Christine Guilmette and her husband Gary of Swanton, Jennifer Marcoux and her husband Jeff of Richford; Ivan Marcoux of Burlington; and Annie Stygles and her husband Andy of Eden; and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents Ricky was predeceased by his oldest son Alexander Sherrer; sister, Nancy Sherrer; and a special nephew, Bradley Marcoux.

In keeping with Ricky’s wishes a private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Richford.
