Daniel J. “Bubby” Mason

RICHFORD: Daniel J. “Bubby” Mason, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

He was born in Montgomery on December 11, 1934, the son of the late Gaylord & Jessie (Kennett) Mason.

Daniel grew up in Montgomery and married Monica (Dunakin) in 1977. He was so proud of his first job delivering milk by horse and then at the young age of 15, cutting firewood. He was one of the first people to cut the right of way for the road to Jay Peak (Route 242); when that job was complete, he began working at the Sheldon Pulp Mill. Later on in life, he became a full-time woodsman working for several different loggers. The last two years of his working career, he worked construction for Blow and Cote. Working in the woods was his passion along with pulling trucks with his boys. Daniel will be remembered for living life to its fullest with family, especially making memories with grandchildren and friends.
