POLICE CLOSE GEORGIA ROAD

GEORGIA: Vermont State Police are warning motorists that Georgia Mountain Road is currently closed for an “incident.”

Police are asking citizens to use a different route and said that more information may be issued at a later time.

DUI AFTER CALLING 911

ST. ALBANS: A Fairfield woman is facing a DUI charge after she called 911 on Christmas day to report a family dispute.

According to Trooper Skelly, 42-year-old Kimberly Duffel called 911 at around 6pm to report a family fight. She told the operator that she was leaving the scene of the fight.

Police later located Duffel on 104 in St. Albans while driving her vehicle.

A breath test indicated that Duffel was driving with an elevated level of alcohol in her system, 0.152%, according to police.

Duffel is due in court on February 27th to answer to the charge of DUI.

MILTON TEEN CAUGHT 40 OVER THE LIMIT

WILLISTON: A Milton teen found himself in handcuffs on Tuesday evening after police say they saw him speeding down Interstate 89.

According to Trooper Wagner, Jacob Kennedy, 18, of Milton was caught traveling 95 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.

The trooper said that Vermont State Police officers were out doing a “high visibility enforcement detail during rush hour traffic when they encountered Wagner.

He’ll be due in court on January 31 to answer to the charge of Careless and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
