ENOSBURGH MAN CAUSES DUI CRASH IN SOUTH BURLINGTON

South Burlington Police are accusing an Enosburgh man of driving drunk when he went off the road, hit a telephone pole on Friday night.

According to police, Randy Mayo II, 21, of Enosburgh was driving the vehicle when it crashed in front of the McDonalds on Shelburne Road.

Mayo had two other people in the car with him at the time of the crash, according to police. All three were transported to UVM Medical Center where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Pope, of the South Burlington Police Department, said in a written release, that Mayo submitted to a breath test after the crash. That test read 0.193%, almost two and a half times the legal limit for driving in Vermont.



Police said Mayo was traveling South on Shelburne Road just before midnight when the crash occurred.

Mayo was arrested in September for excessive speed. In that case, he is accused of traveling 85MPH in a 50. Mayo is due in court to answer to that charge today, Monday, November 7th.

Mayo is due in Chittenden County Criminal Court to answer to the charge of DUI on November 22nd.
