BE ON THE LOOKOUT NETS DUI

Police were notified of a potentially impaired driver leaving the Enosburg Falls Country Club last Wednesday evening, according to a police statement.

The Description of the vehicle matched a vehicle that Deputy Renning of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department later saw on the Colton Road in Sheldon.

During a traffic stop, deputies tested the driver, Alain Fortin, 29, of Swanton for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Fortin provided a breath sample indicating 0.239% alcohol in his blood.

That is just shy of three times the legal limit for driving in Vermont of 0.08%.

Fortin was issued a citation to appear in Franklin County District Court, at a later date, to answer to the charge of DUI.
