E’BURG FALLS HYDRO RENOVATION MOVING FORWARD
Officials in the Village of Enosburg Falls are moving forward with a multi-million-dollar hydro renovation project.
At their October 4th meeting, the Board of Trustees approved spending $107,000 from the electric department for the project.
The project involving engineers from H.L Turner Group and Kingsbury Inc. (from Pennsylvania) hope to upgrade the village’s four-blade turbine runner at its hydroelectric facilities.
That turbine dates back to about 70 years.
Village voters approved a $2.1 million renovation at their March meeting.
Because there are “too many unknowns” in the project, the board opted to go ahead with a phased-in approach. The first stage would be to investigate the facility’s generators to determine their current condition.
The project may begin as soon as November 1st.
