COPS: HIGHGATE MAN DROVE DRUNK

A Highgate man has been arrested for driving drunk according to police.

If the allegations are correct, David Rouse, 41, of Highgate drove his vehicle with a blood alcohol level of 0.148% on Sunday morning in Highgate.

The deputy originally pulled Rouse over for defective equipment and not using his turn signal.

According to a release, Deputy Albarelli became suspicious that Rouse may be under the influence of alcohol after he notices signs of impairment.

Rouse is a border guard for Customs and Border protection as well as a volunteer firefighter in Highgate.

The stop, which occurred just after midnight resulted in a DUI#1 charge for Rouse. He’ll be due in court to answer to the charge on October 17th.
