POLICE: ENOSBURGH MAN EXPOSED HIMSELF
According to court records, Riley Bockus, 29, of Enosburgh is accused of exposing himself to a passing motorist on Interstate 89 in Swanton three different times in the past month.
The two-count indictment includes a felony charge of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct as well as a misdemeanor charge of Careless and Negligent Operation.
According to the alleged victim, Bockus waited on the shoulder of the interstate between Swanton and St. Albans until she went by. Then he drove his truck into the passing lane, matched her speed and exposed himself to her while the two were driving.
The Courier has a policy to, generally, not identify possible victims of sexual or domestic charges.
According to testimony from the accuser, Bockus accelerated to speeds over 100 miles per hour and slowed to speeds under 60 to continually match the speed of the female driving the other car.
A picture of Bockus’ truck, as well as a description of Bockus, was given to police, according to court documents.
A third party who knew the accuser in the case was traveling behind the accuser during the third such incident on September 28th, police said.
Police questioned Bockus at his place of employment, according to police, but he flat out denied that any of the accusations were true.
“Yeah, I didn’t do any of that,” police reported that Bockus said.
When asked about the accusations, Bockus is reported to have said “I guess… uhh… this is… pretty uhhh… upsetting for me. I mean… somebody say that… I mean… this is… this is uhh quite ridiculous.”
When presented with Bockus’ name, the accuser told police she had never met or knew Bockus before in her life.
According to court files, Bockus was arrested and later convicted of a felony charge of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct in 2011. That case involved Backus who had stopped to assist a motorist on Route 7 before ultimately exposing himself to her.
Bockus was released on conditions following his Monday arraignment.
