POLICE: MAN STOLE FROM BERKSHIRE ELEMENTARY

mug-shotPolice arrested Jeremy Humphrey, 38, of Berkshire for apparently stealing three iPads from a Berkshire Elementary School classroom on Monday evening.

The school was open for a Halloween event, according to police.

Officials at the school reviewed security footage from the school in order to identify Humphrey. 

 

According to police, Humphrey was wearing the same sweater in the security footage that he was wearing in a recent booking photo, also from a burglary.

On Tuesday the school posted photos from the surveillance footage on their facebook page asking for help in identifying the suspect. Within an hour tips were being posted with Humphrey’s name as a suspect.

Police raided Humphrey’s home with a search warrant on Wednesday when they arrested him.

According to police, Humphrey has a lengthy record including four charges in the past six months for retail theft, domestic assault, interference with access to emergency services, and burglary.

Humphrey was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, November 3rd on one count of burglary and two counts of violating his conditions of release.

At last check Humphry was being held in jail on $5,000 bail.
