SHELDON MAN DIES IN NY CRASH

Valentin Ramirez, 31, of Sheldon died in a gruesome crash in Seneca County, New York on Monday.

According to police, the vehicle Ramirez was riding in spun out in front of a tractor-trailer truck moments before the crash occurred on Interstate 90 halfway between Syracuse and Rochester NY.

Leticia Ramirez-Rivera, 26, of Falls Church, Virginia was driving the 2006 Toyota Corolla when the crash occurred, according to police.

Juan Tellez-Sabines, 29, of Washington, D.C. was riding in the front passenger seat, while Ramirez sat in a rear passenger seat, according to police.

Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials.

The driver of the truck, Roy E. Bridges, 36, of Syracuse was uninjured in the crash.

Troopers said that there was whiteout conditions at the time of the crash, and the cause appeared to be from weather.

According to police, Ramirez-Rivera suffered head and chest injuries, Howard said. Tellez-Sabines suffered head injuries, he said. Both patients were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
