SWANTON: A letter to the community of the Missisquoi Valley School District from Superintendent Julie Regimbal on Monday evening announced the impact of two COVID positive children at the school, as well as the impact for the next two week for some of the students who attend the Swanton Elementary School.
According to a screenshot of the email, sent to the County Courier by a reader, there were two COVID cases related to students in the school. One of those cases had not been in the school during the affected period.
The other case, connected to the pre-K grades, was determined to be at the school during the infectious period. Due to the possibility of the virus spreading, the school will be closing the pre-K program to any in-person education through December 10th.
According to Regimbal’s letter, the families that are affected will be contacted within the week to determine how to proceed.
The remainder of the grades are not expected to be affected at this time.
The County Courier will continue to report on this and other COVID cases cropping up throughout the County. Follow us on social media and our website for more details as they become available.
