He was born in Burlington VT, the son of Clem and Helen Lashway. He graduated from Cathedral High School and Champlain College.
On August 22, 1964, he married the love of his life, Carol Gray. Their 57 years of marriage was a love story based on adventure and unique living.

He is also survived by his sisters, Noreen Daskey, Patricia Lashway (Bob Ward), Elaine (Bob) Greenough and Elizabeth Ferry, and many special friends. Les was predeceased by his parents, two sisters Lynn and Mary, son Brad and brother-in-law Bill Ferry.
Les grew up with his six sisters in Burlington, spending summers on Lake Champlain. He loved the lake, especially Ball Island.
He was a licensed real estate broker and had a long, successful career at IBM. He retired at 51 and spent the next 30 plus years enjoying life to the “fullest”.
Les was a very unique, energetic, positive person who had great joy for life and love for God. He was best known for his big smile, quick stride, strong handshake, and willingness to help others. You may have heard his off-key singing of “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!” at the top of his lungs as he motored across the lake almost every day. He was a very strong-willed, fiercely independent person right till the end. He will be greatly missed!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at Ascension Roman Catholic Church, 3157 Ethan Allen Hgwy (Rt 7), Georgia VT.
