David B. Robitille
LOWELL, VT: David B. Robitille, age 70, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, the 15th of February 2022. He departed this world with his family and friends by his side.
David was born on May 21, 1951 in St. Albans, Vermont.
David grew up between Stowe and the Swanton / St. Albans area. He was a member of The Galvanized Toadstool band during high school and shortly afterwards. He often said this was the time of his life.
David graduated from Swanton High School in 1969. He attended Johnson State College and obtained a bachelor’s degree in education, theater, and art. After teaching for a couple years, he decided to pursue another career avenue and studied at UVM, graduating with a degree in Nursing. For several years he was employed at Copley Hospital before becoming a traveling nurse, in 1982, working in Texas, Maine, and Florida, and retiring in 1997 due to medical issues. He “came home” (to Vermont) in 2005.
David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon; one son, Joshua and his wife Shannon of Lowell, VT, four daughters, Jennifer Brittin and her husband Michael of Millinocket, ME, Tamera and significant other Ray Gibbs of Poultney, VT, Emma Erwin and her husband Joseph of Springfield, VT, and Grace Robitille of Rutland; six grandchildren, Kenneth Holstein, Jennifer and Bruce Reagan, Mikayla and Adriana Brittin, and Gabriel Robitille. He is also survived by two sisters, Sylvia Garrison and her husband Ethan of St. Albans, VT, Lisa May of Cabot, VT and one brother, Scott of California; a sister-in-law, Georgianna Carr of Avril, VT; and several nieces and nephews.
David is predeceased by his parents, Donald Sr. and Patricia Sweet Robitille, two brothers, “Duffy” and Dana, and a grandson, Curtis Bashaw Jr.
A spring interment will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Lowell, VT.
