Jeannette M. Lanoue
RICHFORD: Jeannette M. Lanoue, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Richford on a beautiful and sunny morning.
She was born in East Berkshire on March 20, 1936 to the late Wilfred & Marie Ann “Maria” (Paquette) Couture.
Jeannette attended the Catholic Convent in Frelisburg, Quebec, and Enosburgh Elementary School. She married Paul Lanoue on September 12, 1959 at Our Lady of the Lourdes in East Berkshire, where she was a member for many years. Jeannette had great faith in God and later became a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church in Richford. She was a mother of two and raised her children with lots of love. She enjoyed working on the farm along side her husband and children. Jeannette loved boiling maple syrup, in their small sugarhouse on the farm, while sharing stories of her dad and her childhood. She loved the outdoors and could be found tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens in the summer. Jeannette always preserved her hard-earned harvest, canning and pickling a large variety of goods. She also loved to pick apples and wild berries, swimming especially in the ocean in Florida, playing cards with family and friends, and always loved watching Sue’s softball games alongside her husband. She and Paul ran the farm from 1963 until they sold it in 1988, they then moved to Richford where Jeannette worked at Northland and Blouin’s IGA. Jeannette will be remembered as a strong-willed lady who loved her family immensely and was loved by many.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne Bockus and her husband Timothy, Mario and his wife Patricia Lanoue all of Berkshire; grandchildren, Diana Bockus-Davis and her husband Spencer of Fort Worth, TX, and Riley Bockus and his companion Tracie Shappy of Enosburgh; great-grandchildren, Jolynn and Audrey Bockus and a Davis grandbaby on the way; brothers-in-law, Joseph Lanoue, Gerard Lanoue and his wife Berthe; a sister-in-law, Marie Anna Lanoue; and several nieces and nephews.
