Pauline M. Lawyer
BAKERSFIELD: Pauline M. Lawyer, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Sheldon on March 25, 1931, to the late Aimee and Beatrice (Prive) Dufresne.
Pauline grew up in Bakersfield on a small farm and graduated from the Brigham Academy. She married the love of her life, Donald Lawyer, on November 18, 1950, and the two raised their six children in Bakersfield. After graduation, Pauline worked as a bookkeeper, seamstress, and babysitter throughout her life however her favorite role was being a homemaker. She thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at caring for her family, they were the center of her life. Pauline loved to garden, cook, and bake, and appreciated the importance of dessert after every meal. Her talents did not stop in the kitchen. Pauline was also a talented artist with an incredibly creative mind, she could woodwork, build crafts, develop photos, and sew just about anything. She was a devoted and active Catholic and looked forward to attending Mass every Sunday. Pauline will be remembered for her warm welcoming personality, wit, and the hard work ethic that she instilled in all of her children.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Green & Larry, Donna Young & Gary, Debbie Curtis & Asa, Larry Lawyer & Cynthia, and Lee Lawyer & Theresa; numerous beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Burns, Jeannette Messinger, Georgette Hale & Richard, Andrew Dufresne & Carol, Anita Longley & Robert, and Suzanne Stone & Harold; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Donald Lawyer on December 19, 2018; and her son, Lane Lawyer on January 2, 2020; and siblings, Roger, Phillip, and Lillian Dufresne.
Pauline’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Brownway Residence, and Bayada Hospice for all of the thoughtful and loving care she received.

Family and friends are invited to Pauline’s Life Celebration to include visitation on Monday, August 15, 2022, 12-1 pm at The Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 2 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 116 Church St., Fairfield, VT. Interment will follow in St. George Catholic Cemetery in Bakersfield.
