George Ernest Kemp

HIGHGATE CENTER: George Ernest Kemp, 89, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born on December 15, 1933, in Fairfax son of the late Herbert Webb Sr.

George was proud to have served in the U.S. Air Force.

George married the former Beverly King on June 14, 1956.

George’s work ethic and drive were admired by everyone. After retiring from Union Carbide he ran several successful businesses over the years. He then worked part-time for Price Chopper and Hannaford and culminated his working years as a rural mail carrier in the Town of Highgate, finally retiring at 85.

George was a wonderful husband to his wife Beverly (Becky). He was a family man and a much loved family patriarch who was compassionate and kind hearted to all. He welcomed everyone, in some way, to be a part of the family.

George loved going to the casinos. He was very lucky, as were we to have him in our lives.  George was a huge sports enthusiast.  He loved to tinker, garden, watch nature, and was caring for his birds. He loved his family time with the grandchildren, he was always Bumpa.

George was a superstar human, he was liked by all. He made everyone feel better, appreciated, loved, and accepted. George was determined and driven and made people strive to be like him.  If you knew him, you were very fortunate and loved him in every way possible. Your family is thankful that you are no longer suffering but know you left the greatest of impressions on your family, friends, and everyone who met you.
