Louis John “Jack” Mayo
SWANTON: Louis John “Jack” Mayo a lifelong area resident, known to many as “Hucky” passed away on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023 at the Northwestern Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Jack fought a long hard battle with PHT and heart disease.
Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, he was one of four children to the late Henry L. “Herky” and Mary (Crawford) Mayo. Jack was 67 years old.
On August 15th, 1981, he married Paula Smith who survives him.
Jack was a 1975 graduate of Bellows Free Academy and then worked for IBM for 37 years. He was an outdoor enthusiast; he had a passion for guns and hunting, fishing, especially for walleye, woodcarving, playing the guitar, and was a life member and former officer with the Sportsman’s Club of Franklin County.
He enjoyed owning and operating Triple M Archery with his brothers.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Paula, of Swanton; twin daughters, Sarah Mayo and her significant other, Sean Robtoy of Franklin and Laura St. Cyr of Fairfax, as well as granddaughters, Asa, Ensley, Letty, Hannah, and Lena.
Jack is also survived by his brothers, William and his wife, Susan Mayo, and Michael and his wife, Anne Marie Mayo, and sister, Karen Mayo and her husband, Erick Perzanowski; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jack’s family invites you to join them for a Celebration of his Life on Monday, December 11th, 2023, at the American Legion Hall, 100 Parah Drive, St. Albans from 5 – 7 pm. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be at the convenience of his family.
