THE MONTGOMERY NEWS, week of MAY 5, 2024
Submitted by Lois Lumbra
Sunday, May 5th: It’s a rainy day!
Today, Rev. Bill Neil officiated our Montgomery Methodist Church Service and served communion. His sermon was entitled “A Christ-Centered Culture.” His wife, Faith, accompanied him. We are always so appreciative to have Rev. Bill serve our church, as he is retired and shares his time with other churches as well. Clint Holmes, a friend of Rev. Neil from Richford, came to join in our Service.
My grandson, David, and his girlfriend Jessica went to Morrisville for Chinese food so Penny ordered Take-out for us. We just enjoyed the dinner, David delivered it here nice and hot, so YUMMY! Penny decided to watch a movie this afternoon. She said to her kittens, “You want to come with me upstairs?” Benny went with her but Sunny has been sleeping on the couch, and yes, Gramma also had a nap before finishing this Montgomery News.
Our town was saddened yesterday afternoon when we learned Joseph Donna Sr. died from his injuries while riding his motorcycle on Rte.118 and hitting the guardrail. Our sincere sympathy goes to all his family and friends. Got bless you all.
What has this week been like? Well, from early morning till dusk, the big trucks hauling the liquid cow manure have been very busy daily. We did not, however, have any snow this week here in Montgomery! My sister-in-law, Roberta Martin, picked me up on Friday to join our niece, Melissa Tice, for lunch at the Dairy Center. While there, we saw and visited with other folks from town, which is always nice.
