FOOD CITY BURGLARIZED

ST. ALBANS: According to St. Albans Police Chief Maurice Lamothe, the Food City grocery store in St. Albans City was burglarized during the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 30th.

According to the Police Chief, a caller contacted 911 at around 2:52 am after a worker showed up at the store to discover merchandise strewn throughout the store, making it look like it had been burglarized.

The burglars cut the alarm wires connected to the store, according to the Chief, who also said it appeared the two men also tried to remove the video recording system.

St. Albans Police believe the burglars were still inside the store when the employee arrived, which caused the two to flee the scene quickly.

Police said in addition to recovering video from the scene, they also were able to collect other, unspecified evidence.

St. Albans Police are asking for anyone who may have information on the burglary to contact investigators at (802) 524-2166.
