MONTGOMERY WOMAN SHOOTS AT FATHER

According to police, 21 year old Brianna Croteau of Montgomery fired a pistol during an alleged domestic situation on August 17th.

Court records show that a bullet was recovered next to a light switch of the residence.

The alleged assault occurred when Croteau shot at her father, Brian Croteau Sr. at their Enosburgh Mountain Road home.

According to court records, the fight began when Croteau’s father and mother were involved in a verbal argument over suspected sexual improprieties.

“When she shot, I thought I was dead.” Brian Croteau told officers “Lucky she missed.”

According to court records, the two were about 5-6 feet away from each other when Brianna shot the Ruger 9mm pistol.

Croteau told officers that she threw the handgun into the woods after the incident, according to a police affidavit.

Brian Crouteau Sr was packing boxes of his stuff to leave the residence when the incident occurred, according to police.

In an affidavit, police wrote that they believed the bullet traveled through the wall and across the roadway before becoming lodged somewhere in the adjacent bank.

The Felony Aggravated Assault charge could land Croteau in prison for up to 15 years if she is convicted.

She also faces a fine of up to $25,000.
