RUNNING COKE WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE
Police believe they caught a cocaine dealer making her run on the interstate on Thursday.
Kristy Sweeney, 33, of Georgia was arrested for Trafficking cocaine as well as driving with a suspended license.
According to State Trooper Maurice Lamothe, Sweeney was initially pulled over for speeding, but a records check indicated that her license was criminally suspended.
A search warrant was issued for her vehicle, where police reported finding 28 ounces of powdered cocaine.
Sweeney was initially held on $25,000 bail until her arraignment on Friday when the judge held her without bail.
According to state law, possesion of 5.6 ounces of cocaine or more with the intent to sell can land a defendant in prison for up to 30 years and a $1 million fine.

According to a police affidavit, Sweeney was clocked at 87 miles per hour when officers first encountered her vehicle.
She told officers that she was late to her job at Peerless CLothing in St. Albans.
In court documents, police recalled Sweeney telling them that “Other people use the vehicle and to her knowledge there was nothing illegal in the vehicle.”
Even though police applied for a search warrant in the case, according to court records, the owner of the vehicle (Amy Domina) allowed police to search the car without a warrant.
According to public documents obtained bt the County Courier, police also discovered an empty box of baking soda in the bags that contained the cocaine.
According to court records, Sweeney has had 10 misdemeanor counts on her record, four of which resulted in convictions.
She also had three charges for violation of Parole, and one failure to appear.
