ST. ALBANS POLICE SEARCH FOR ASSAILANT

Just before 2 am this morning, a St. Albans Police Officer was patrolling the city when he came upon an assault victim lying in the road in front of BFA St. Albans, according to Police Chief Gary Taylor.

The man was unconscious from his injuries, but later regained consciousness as the officer tended to his injuries.

Few details were made public this morning, but police did say that the man “sustained significant head trauma and lacerations to the right side of his head.”

Police did not release the name of the victim in the case.

According to Taylor, the unnamed male had been beaten at two different locations. One was in the hallway of an apartment house, located at 46 South Main Street. The other was near his car, parked in a back parking lot behind Kevin Smith’s Sports just down the street.

Police began investigating the two locations as soon as emergency medical services transported the victim to Northwestern Medical Center.

According to Taylor, the victim was treated and released from the hospital a short time later.

The police are still investigating the incident and are asking for any assistance the public may be able to provide. You can call their office at (802) 524-2166 or submit an anonymous tip online at stalbanspd.com.
