DUI CRASH LEAVES DRIVER WITH SCRATCHES, PASSENGER WITH SERIOUS HEAD INJURY

ST. ALBANS: A New Hampshire man is facing a DUI charge after crashing into a guardrail in St. Albans.

According to police, Caleb Newton, 21 of New Hampshire, was driving west on the interstate access road when he didn’t stop at the stop sign on Route 7, December 4th.

A witness saw him careen through the intersection, slamming into the guardrail.

The witness talked with police who say they later found Newton just around the corner on Nason Street.

A significant amount of damage was done to the front end of the car, according to Chief Taylor of the St. Albans Police Department.

Taylor said that Newton sustained only minor injuries, but that his passenger had a serious head injury in the crash.

Newton was subsequently arrested for DUI with serious bodily injury resulting and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with serious bodily injury resulting.
