Melvin D. Simmons
St. Albans: Mr. Melvin D. “Mel” Simmons, age 74, passed away Monday morning, January 16, 2017, at the University Of Vermont Hospital. He was born in, CA, son of the late Melvin W. and Nelquin (Dooley) Simmons. He married Carol Arel, June 10, 1973. Mel worked for many years as a truck driver for Wild Cat Construction (now TDI).
Mel is survived by his wife Carol Simmons of St. Albans, his son Michael Wells of York, PA, and his daughters Tammy Wells of Swanton, and Debbie Wells-Kronsburg of Ocean Side, CA, his brother Robert Simmons and his wife Sandra of Bakersfield, CA, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 9 brothers-in-law and 9 sisters-in-law. Mel was predeceased by his parents and a son Scott Simmons.
At his request, there will be no public funeral services. Interment will take place in the Simmons family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
