Richard P. Chalifoux
SWANTON – Richard P. Chalifoux, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2020 in Swanton.
He was born on March 10, 1954 in St. Albans to the late Andre & Celina (Couture) Chalifoux.
Richard grew up in Richford and graduated from Richford High School. He was a hardworking, caring, generous and loyal man. He spent decades working as a hired hand for Brouillette Farms, and 12 years dedicated to WestRock where he recently retired from. After retirement he continued with his respectable work ethic, working for Rene Fournier as a truck driver. When Richard wasn’t working, he enjoyed attending car shows, tractor pulls, and visiting antique museums. It was no secret that Richard was a fan of Case tractors and Ford cars.
He is survived by his children, Norman Chalifoux and his wife Lauretta of St. Albans, Renee Chalifoux and her partner Bob Jankowski of Chittenden, and Veronica Chalifoux and her boyfriend Tony Pretty of Swanton; one grandchild on the way; and a fur baby, Cleo who meant the world to him; siblings, Claire Fay and her significant other Charlie Hotchkin of Richford, Cecile Fuller and her husband Leonard of North Ft. Myers, FL, Robert Chalifoux and his wife Carol of Vergennes, and his twin brother Real Chalifoux and his wife Darlene of Richford; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and two special friends in Iowa, David and Robert. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his son, Paul R. Chalifoux in 2007; and his brother, John Chalifoux in 2017.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
