Herbert C. Walker

RICHFORD – Herbert C. Walker, age 85, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, at his home in Richford.

He was born in St. Albans on March 2, 1935, the son of the late George Sr. and Florence (Rushlow) Walker.

Herbert loved spending time with his family and friends most of all. He was a great cook. He enjoyed watching Sci-Fi/horror movies. He was a man of many talents which included woodcarving, drawing, painting, coloring, and collecting many things like baseball cards, coins, and stamps. He enjoyed fishing and picnicking at his favorite State Park, Kamp Kill Kare, in St. Albans.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (Durkee) Walker of Richford; children and their spouses, Herbert O. Walker of NC, Robert Walker and his wife Stephanie of Enosburgh, Kathy Walker and her significant other Jim Bean of Enosburgh, Charles Walker and his wife Nancy of Swanton, Larry Walker of Highgate Center, Christina Walker of Ripton, George Walker and his wife Jennifer of Richford, Sherrie Walker and her significant other Allan Boylan of Richford, and Shirley Lafromboise and her husband Paul of Richford; grandchildren, James, Jessica, Katelyn, Stephanie, Brendan, Zachary, Emily, Heather, Joseph, Philip, Robert, Andrew, Cori, Liberty, Heidi, Elijah, Kendra, Madison, Carson, Nathan, and Bryce; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Bruce Walker of Germany, and Francis Walker of Richford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Herbert was predeceased by two grandchildren, Peter, and Hope; two brothers, George Walker Jr. and James Walker Sr.; sister, Betty Parizo; and son-in-law, Brian Kerr.

Herbert’s family would like to thank all of the nurses, doctors, and staff at Franklin County Home Health for the excellent care that he received, especially Ann and Brenda.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020, from noon until 1:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 17, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery, South Richford Road, Richford.
