Daniel George Valley

1976 – 2020

FAIRFAX: Daniel George Valley, 44, passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2020, from complications during surgery. He leaves behind his parents Rod and Jeanne Valley, brother Tim, niece Rebecca, and nephew Hunter, among other beloved family members. He is predeceased by his brother, Thom Valley.

Dan grew up in Winooski and has been living in Fairfax for more than ten years. He spent many summers on the family’s camp at Lake Champlain, where he shared his vast knowledge of plants and animals with his niece and nephew. Dan was notorious for his sense of humor – he was the master of gag Christmas presents, and could never resist the urge to play a prank on his mother. You could always tell he was up to something by the twinkle in his eye.

Dan had an enormous heart, and was deeply loyal to his family and friends. He loved yellow and chocolate labs; his dogs were part of the family.

Dan received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Forestry in 2000, from the University of Vermont. He worked in IT for more than twenty years, and was promoted to manager for his hard work and dedication. Dan would never hesitate to drop what he was doing to help a friend, family member, or coworker in need.

There will be no services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dan’s honor to For the Love of Dogs Vermont, P.O. Box 1112, Waitsfield, VT 05673.
