LIGHTED GUARD CONVOY TO START IN ST. ALBANS TOMORROW NIGHT
ST. ALBANS: The Vermont National Guard is conducting a military convoy, decked out in holiday lights, beginning in St. Albans tomorrow evening, and ending in Berlin, Vermont.
The convoy is set to leave the St. Albans Wal-Mart on Route 7 at about 4:30 pm, headed south. It will make its way through St. Albans City, Georgia, and Milton before continuing its journey to Berlin.
The convoy includes military wreckers, forklift trucks, ambulances, and 2-ton trucks, according to the Vermont National Guard. They are all part of the Brigade Support Battalion, Alpha Company.
The convoy is in support of the Governor’s #VTLightsTheWay initiative to lift spirits this holiday season as the state continues to battle a surge in cases of COVID-19.
For those who will be posting about the convoy on social media, organizers encourage the use of the following hashtags to better find the posts: #BootleggerBN #86IBCT and #VTLightsTheWay.
The Convoy’s route will take them on Route 7 to Route 2 in Winooski, then east to their final stop in Berlin. Major towns they will be passing through include Essex, Willison, Richmond, Waterbury, and Montpelier.
