Edward M. Deuso

HIGHGATE– Heaven gained another hero on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Edward M. Deuso, age 70, passed away unexpectedly at his camp at Lake Carmi.

He was born in Black Falls Montgomery on February 7, 1951 to the late David and Charlotte (Bolt) Deuso.

Ed grew up on his family’s farm in Montgomery and attended Montgomery Elementary School and Enosburg Falls High School. Ed was a strong believer in a hard day’s work and exemplified this work ethic in all his professional endeavors. As soon as he was old enough, he joined the Army National Guard where he proudly served for 40 years. He also worked for the Vermont State Agency of Transportation for 35 years, and 15 years at Paragon Systems as a security guard, and full time Papa. He was incredibly knowledgeable in many fields making him a vital resource to his family and friends.

When Ed wasn’t working you could find him trout fishing or hunting usually with Griffin, driving his pontoon boat around the lake, maintaining his immaculate lawn, or watching TV cheering on his favorite Republican candidate, NASCAR racer, or baseball team- the Yankees. Above everything, Ed treasured his family and embraced every moment with them. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his caring heart and his ability to tell it like it is.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Deuso of Highgate; daughters, Gina LeClair and her husband Luke of South Hero, and Lisa Deuso and one very special grandson, Griffin Deuso of St. Albans; siblings, David “Buddy” Deuso and his wife Sharon of Fairfax, Jeannie West and her husband Larry of Enosburg Falls, and Michael Deuso and his wife Mary of Montgomery Center; mother-in-law, Alice Patterson; brother-in-law, Bruce Patterson and his wife Sharon; nieces and nephews, Steve Deuso and his wife Risé, Justin Deuso, Joshua West and his wife Kathryn “Kat”, Jessica Eagles and her husband Duane, Kaitlin Benoit and her husband Jake, Kelsi Larivee and her husband Seth, Heather Klee and her husband Matt, Nicky Patterson, Steve, Joseph, Michael, and Russell Knapp; several great nieces and nephews; and all of his Facebook Buddies.

Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by his father-in-law, Max Patterson; sister-in-law, Shirley Knapp; many cousins; special cousin, Bruce Bolt; nephew Dennis Deuso; an infant brother; and his favorite four-legged companion, Tucker.

Family and friends are invited to Edward’s Life Celebration events on Thursday, July 22, 2021, to include visitation from 3:00- 5:00 PM with a Memorial Service and military honors to follow at 5:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickenson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
