Rodney Theodore Bushey Sr.
EAST FAIRFIELD: Rodney Theodore Bushey Sr. a longtime area resident and farmer, passed away Wednesday, July 28th, 2021, at the home of his son, surrounded by his family and friends.
Born in St. Albans on January 15th, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Belvue) Bushey. Rodney was 77 years old.
Most of his working life, Rodney was involved in several area farms and enjoyed working with his son and grandsons at Belvidere Mountain Maples. He enjoyed fishing and putting on BBQs for his family.
Rodney is survived by his sons, Rodney Bushey Jr. and his wife, Kathy, and Allan Bushey; his daughters, Tina Combs and her husband, Aaron, and Kerry Bushey and Douglas, as well as his grandchildren, Samara Jacobs and her husband Ryan, Shane Bushey, Shawn Bushey, Tracy Combs, and Jenna Combs; and great-grandchildren, Lillie, Liam, Holden, Zoie, Ava and Alli.
Rodney is also survived by his brothers, George Bushey Jr. and Michael Bushey, sisters, Beverly Gagne, Diane McMahon, and Joyce Church; longtime companion, Nancy Brier, and best friend, Leon Bushey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 6th, 2021, from 5-7 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main Street, St. Albans.
A funeral service will follow at 7 pm with the Reverend Father Maurice J. Roy officiating.
Rodney’s family has asked that contributions in his memory be made to the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Boulevard – Suite 600, Arlington, Virginia 22209.
