Lillian M. Vorse
FRANKLIN – Lillian M. Vorse, age 86, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester.
She was born in Elmore on September 13, 1935 to the late George and Gertrude Davey.
Lillian grew up in several small towns throughout Vermont. She met Clifton Vorse Sr. and they made their home in Franklin. They were married for over 50 years prior to Clifton’s passing in 2004. Lillian worked as a LNA for many years at the former Verdelle Village in St. Albans. She always worked the night shift, and would let Clifton know she made it safely through the communication of their CB Radios. Her handle was “Tiger Lily.” Lillian was a hard worker and never took a day off. She enjoyed going for walks, completing word search puzzles, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Janet Houghton and her significant other Todd Aube of St. Albans, John Vorse and his significant other Mallissa Willequer of Franklin, Kathy Kimball and her husband Albert of Ferrisburgh, and Clifton Vorse Jr. and his wife Carol-Ann of Enosburg Falls; 23 grandchildren, Mark, Tammy, Tina, Frank, Peanut, Kenny, Travis, Kayla, Cathy, Jo-Ann, Jennifer, Jenny, Janice, Samantha, Robert, Krissie, Tonia, Brianna, William III, Anthony, Jordan, Harley, and Lucas; 38 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Levi Royea.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Clifton Vorse Sr., her daughter, Lorreta Vorse; her grandson, Jason Gaudette; and her siblings, Mary Corey, Blanche Peters, and James Peters.
Lillian’s family would like to thank the Green Mountain Nursing Home for the great care she received during her time as a resident.
Friends and family are invited to Lillian’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 to include visitation from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM and a funeral service at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.
