Stephen James Day
STANBRIDGE EAST, QUEBEC: Stephen James Day, age 89, passed away on February 12, 2022 at his home.
Stephen was born in Montreal, Quebec, on March 16, 1932, the son of Irene (Piette) and James Day.
He married Elizabeth Hughes on October 10, 1952.
Stephen was an Army veteran and also a resident of Vermont for many years. He owned three farms, and was a tractor trailer driver for ten years. As a young man, Stephen loved fast cars and going to Catamount races. He owned some fast cars as well. He loved to play billiards and has a wall of trophies as a result.
In 1969, Stephen moved his family to Quebec. He was employed making generators until retirement.
Stephen is survived by his sons, Michael Day (Diane Beauregard), Mark Day (Ruby Perry Day); his daughter June Day Bluto (Marvin Bluto); as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Stephen was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Hughes Day; his mother, Irene Piette Lafountain; stepfather Francis Lafountain; his father James Day and his wife, Marie Day; his sons Oben Day, Thomas Day, and James “Jimmy” Day; and his sister Menetta LeClaire (Francis LeClaire);
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be in the spring, a date to be determined.
