Suzanne Rhodes

RICHFORD: Suzanne Rhodes, age 65, passed away with her loving family by her side on January 12, 2022, at her home in Richford.

She was born on July 17, 1956, to Nelson and Joyce (Shover) Tessier.

Suzanne and James Rhodes celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on November 24, 2021.

Suzanne attended Richford High School. She became owner of Gramma’s Bakery, in Richford, operating it for several years.

Suzie was employed at the Community National Bank (previously known as Lyndonville Savings Bank) at the Enosburg Falls branch for over 15 years. During her employment at the bank she started as a teller and worked up to the Branch manager position. Suzie worked hard to support her customers whether it was personal or business banking. Many of her patrons would say, ‘If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have what I have today.’ ‘She was always willing to go above and beyond for my needs.’ ‘She helped me start my new business account and all the details that went with it.’

Suzie was an avid community member in Richford and was always willing to help wherever needed. Her hobbies included cross country skiing, gardening, trips to the beach, and playing 500 with her card club. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, she loved the spirt of Christmas, the music and time spent with her family and friends.   

Suzanne is survived by her husband James Rhodes and their two children, daughter Mary Rhodes, and son Shane and his wife Krista Rhodes; four grandchildren, James Rhodes-Mason, Cameron Rhodes, Harper Cole, Barrett Rhodes; her mother Joyce Shover Tessier; siblings Brian and Sue Tessier, Ricky and Cher Tessier, Kenny and Nancy Tessier, Jean and George Jacobs, Valerie and Rodney Lussier, Dale Tessier, Randy Tessier, Kevin and Carol Tessier, Sonja and Doug Lacross, Tammy and Burt Combs, Jeffery Tessier, Denis and Heidi Tessier; her sister-in-law Cathy and Chad Rhodes Gibney, brother-in-law Jack Rhodes; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends Sally Desautels, Lisa Phillips, and Heidi Broullette.

She was predeceased by her father Nelson Tessier, sisters-in-law Jennifer Tessier and Teresa Tessier, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Floyd and Doris Rhodes.

Family and friends were invited to Suzanne’s Life Celebration events which included visitation on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 4 – 7 pm, at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue Enosburg Falls, VT 05450. The funeral service was held at All Saints Catholic Church 152 Main St., Richford, on Wednesday January 19, 2022, at 11 am with interment at Richford Center Cemetery scheduled to follow the service.
