Harley Leland Sanborn
BELLINGTON, WA/FAIRFAX, VT: Harley Leland Sanborn passed away peacefully on April 22, 2022. Born and raised in Vermont, he worked many years for the railroad and later moved to the state of Washington where he retired from the Border Patrol in 1997. He was a car enthusiast and loved cars from the 40’s & 50’s, especially the Chevys! He was passionate about the history of the railroad, classical music, and enjoyed chatting with friends and reminiscing about growing up in Vermont. In retirement he enjoyed playing bridge with friends and an occasional game of pool. He was a loving man who will be missed by many.
Harley is predeceased by his mother, Helen, father, Harley, brother, Fred Sanborn and daughter, Sandra Place. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Yepez of Fort Worth, TX and six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Harley to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 OR Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741-5000.
A private graveside service will be held in the Fairfax Plains Cemetery, at the convenience of his family later this summer.
