Louis P. Charbonneau

MORRISVILLE: Louie passed away at his home on September 18, 2023. He was born on March 10, 1940, in St. Sebastian, Quebec Canada, the son of the late Donat and Crescence (Legault) Charbonneau.

At a very young age, he started farming to help his father. In time he decided to move to Connecticut to join his brothers, however in time, he was called back home when both of his parents were killed in a car accident. He ran the farm with his younger brother Ivan, and his younger sister lived with them to finish her education. Fran did the cooking, which certainly helped.

Louie later sold the farm and started building steel buildings. He continued this for several years and kept some for rentals. He developed Route 7, in which 16 beautiful homes were built. Louie always loved playing cards and in later years golfing. He and Jeanne enjoyed many wonderful trips to the Caribbean. He enjoyed the short years he went to Florida for the winters. He also found great enjoyment in having coffee with the boys in Saint Albans.

Louie is survived by his wife Jeanne of 21 years; his sons Shawn (Carole) Charbonneau and Peter (Danielle) Charbonneau; his granddaughter Lydia Charbonneau, his grandson Matthew Charbonneau; his stepsons Stephen (Danielle) Rossi, and Scott (Jill) Rossi; his step-grandson Carter Rossi and step-granddaughter Kenzie Rossi.

He leaves brother Andre (Ernestine) Charbonneau of Windsor CT, his sister Pearl Hanson of Hollywood FL, Fran (Micheal) Curtis of Ft. Meyers FL, sister-in-law Marie Charbonneau of Naples FL, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Ivan, Jack, and Claude; his sisters Marie, Lynn, and Paulette; his nephew Ryan Charbonneau, and most recently sister-in-law Suzanne Manosh.

Louie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, Saint Albans, Vermont.
